Crystal Lynn (Dunfee) Shaver

| February 28, 2018

COSHOCTON – Crystal Lynn (Dunfee) Shaver, age 63, of Coshocton went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 26, 2018 in her home surrounded by her loved ones.  She had fought a brave fight against breast cancer for the past 5 years.

She loved Jesus and wasn’t afraid to share the Good news of salvation with her patients and all she met. She loved her family greatly and would sacrifice time and herself for them.

Crystal was many things in her life. She was a 4-H advisor, Girl Scout leader, swim instructor, room mother, PTO treasurer, and Sunday school teacher. In her 40’s she returned to college and graduated with a 3.9 GPA for Occupational Therapy. She worked 18 years as an Occupational Therapist in many local and statewide nursing facilities.

After her battle with breast cancer and her remission, she started a nursing home and shut-in ministry called “Thumbprint Ministries”.  Thumbprint Ministries would have a monthly service at the nursing home, send newsletters throughout Ohio prisons and deliver Christmas cards to all the nursing homes in Coshocton County. Even after her second diagnosis of stage 4 breast cancer, she continued to deliver Christmas cards to all the nursing homes in Coshocton County.

Crystal is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Victor Shaver, and her grandson, Dominic, who both faithfully took care of her the last two months of her life so she could stay at home peacefully. She is also survived by her 3 daughters, Christy (Kent) Proudfit of Coshocton, Darla (Brian) Foster of Coshocton, and Darlene (Jack) Nixon of Waddell, Arizona. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Trevor, Mariah, Jazzmyne, Keleasha and Davina. Also a brother, Darrell (Carol) Dunfee and several nieces, nephews, friends, and other loved ones.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Merill Dunfee Jr., and Helen Dunfee; infant sister, Linda Sue Dunfee; mother and father-in-law Homer and Bessie Shaver.

Friends may call at the Miller Funeral Home, 639 main St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812 on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm and one hour prior to the funeral service.  Funeral services for Crystal will be Saturday at 11:00am with Pastor James Childers officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be directed towards the Church of God, 703 S. 2nd St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812.  An online memorial is located at www.themillerfuneralhome.com
