Front line workers honored for fight against opiate problem
COSHOCTON – All front line workers in the addiction arena, indirectly and directly, were honored during Opiate Addiction Support Appreciation Week, which started April 9. The governor declared the week and provided money to county addiction and mental health boards to honor first responders, counselors and others involved in the fight against drugs. “Here in Coshocton we used the money to show our appreciation by providing lunches from Schumaker Farms and we also had people on the radio,” said Beth Cormack, from Coshocton Behavioral Health Choices, which helped coordinate the lunches. “Different people were on the radio all week too, but it was all based on what we are doing as a community to fight the problem and how we are collaborating.” Lunches were delivered to treatment facilities and children’s service, to staff at all three courts in the county, to Coshocton Regional Medical Center Emergency Room staff, and to first responders.
