W. Eugene Akins
WARSAW – W. Eugene Akins age 93, of Warsaw, Ohio passed away Monday evening April 16, 2018 at Pomerene Hospital in Millersburg, Ohio.
Funeral services will be 3 pm Friday at Alexander Funeral Home with Pastor Starkey Lawrence officiating. Burial will be at Tiverton Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Killbuck VFW.

Eugene was born January 13, 1925 on Spring Mountain in Coshocton County, Ohio and was the son of Ralph and Chloe (Hawkins) Akins. On January 26, 1944 he married Rosalie King and she survives. He was employed at Walmart for 10 years as a greeter, and previously was the owner of E&R Lockers. He was a Farmer most of his life. Eugene was a member of Sheppard’s Christian Assembly of Coshocton. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Force serving in World War II, he was a lifetime member of the NRA and was a member of the Coshocton VFW. He enjoyed hunting and working.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 74 years are 3 children; Eugene (Nancy) Akins Jr of Warsaw, Steven (Cathie) Akins of Warsaw, and Cathy Snyder (Fiance, Dave Reed of Massillon) of Coshocton; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Israel of West Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Steven Akins.
