Gertrude R. Mikesell

COSHOCTON – Gertrude R. Mikesell, 94, a resident of Coshocton Springs Care Center died Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the care center.

She was born June 9, 1923 in Coshocton County to the late Glenn W. and Edna S. (Brown) Overholt.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, reading, and raising flowers.  She was a 1941 graduate of Coshocton High School.  She was a member of the Prairie Chapel United Methodist Church where she was active with the Tuesday morning Bible study group, United Methodist Women, and the Class of Hope.  She was a 50+ year member of the Bethlehem Grange.

Surviving are two sons, David (Jona Lee) Mikesell of Coshocton and Mark (Julie) Mikesell of Conesville; six grandchildren, Kristi (Beau) Timmons, Shaylene Lusk, Devin (Samantha) Lusk, Cody Mikesell, Rochele (Clint) Fowler, and Daniele (Matt) Beck; six great grandchildren, Harper & Sylus Timmons, Carsin & Layla Lusk, and Rayne & Broox Fowler; several nieces and nephews; and a sister-in-law, Carma Overholt.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn E. Mikesell, whom she married Sept. 19, 1953; he died Sept. 14, 2016.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Owen Overholt, and sisters-in-law and brothers-in law, Eileen (Ambrose) Berton, Naomi (Jim) Ashcraft, & Carl Mikesell.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 23, 2018 at the Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Pastor Dail Parrish officiating.  Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery at Warsaw.  Visitation is 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 22nd at the funeral home.  www.fischerfuneralhome.com
