Ruth Cerny
COSHOCTON – Ruth Irene Cerny, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at her residence.
She was born Oct. 8, 1932 in Knewell, W.Va. to the late Rev. J. Francis and Hattie May (Conard) Freese. She was a graduate of the Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) in Wollaston, MA, and was a Sunday School and Bible School teacher at Coshocton Baptist Church, where she attended until her illness. She was a former Den Mother, and PTA President at the Chestnut School in Coshocton. She enjoyed all kinds of animals and reading. She often spent her free time with a good book.
She is survived by two daughters, Laurel Matis of Coshocton, and Debbie Emler of Coshocton; two sons, Craig Cerny of San Antonio, TX, and Paul Cerny of Coshocton; two grandchildren, Mitchell Cerny & Seanda Ramsey; three great-grandchildren, Cammron Williams, Carly Jo Williams, and Cassius Ramsey; and a brother, Rev. J. Donald Freese of California.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Freese.
A private burial will be held at Valley View Cemetery in Warsaw, with Rev. Paul Schwab officiating. The Fischer Funeral Home in Warsaw is handling arrangements. www.fischerfuneralhome.com
