Elks Lodge makes donations to Echoing Hills
COSHOCTON – The Coshocton Elks Lodge recently continued its longstanding tradition of donating to Echoing Hills.
“Part of the money we contribute comes from local members donating,” said Mike Wilson, past exalted ruler. “We give out coin banks and ask our members to fill them up. As long as we are doing our part with that the State Elks usually gives us the maximum amount they can to help us make donations.”
On June 8, lodge secretary Steve Good and Wilson presented three checks to Echoing Hills employees Lauren Unger, camp administrator, and Buddy Busch, president/CEO. The two $400 checks will help with camperships and the $10,000 check will help defray the costs of camp.
“Campers can only pay so much so we do fundraising to help pay the rest of the cost,” Busch said.
Seven week-long summer camps are offered at Echoing Hills and several programs are held during the off season. Unger and Busch added that those programs serve about 375 people with disabilities who range in age from 7 to 80.
