COSHOCTON – Six members of the Cardinal Chorale staff will present I Dreamed a Dream: A Musical Theatre Showcase on Saturday, June 30, at Ridgewood High School, 602 Johnson Street, West Lafayette. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m.

Matt Downing, Haley Evans, Peter Hampton, Erin Jobes, Josh Senn, and Jennifer Sper will perform a variety of songs from stage and screen as solos, duets, trios, and the full ensemble. The show will include Matchmaker (Fiddler on the Roof), Elegance (Hello Dolly), I Have Dreamed (The King and I), For the First Time in Forever (Frozen), The Impossible Dream (Man of La Mancha), Climb Every Mountain (The Sound of Music), along with other favorites.

The showcase cast is comprised of musicians and educators from communities across Ohio. Downing is the assistant director of choirs at Marion Harding High School, Hampton, formerly of Lakewood, Ohio, is working on his masters in choral conducting at Boston University, and Evans is the choral director at Ridgewood High School. Jobes is the director of Christian education at The Presbyterian Church in Coshocton, Senn is the choral director at Springfield Local Schools, near Youngstown and Sper is a choral music specialist at Stanton’s Sheet Music. Together, these young professionals have taught, coached and inspired young musicians in the Cardinal Chorale for a combined total of 74 years.

Tickets are $5 for students and children and $8 for adults, and may be purchased at the Ridgewood auditorium door the evening of the performance.  All proceeds will benefit the Cardinal Chorale and support its youth development programming.

The Cardinal Chorale was organized in 1995 by Charles R. Snyder, inspired by the sound of Fred Waring’s renowned Pennsylvanians. Since its founding, 627 high school and collegiate singers have raised their voices in song as members of the chorale. This July, members of the 24th edition of the chorale will gather at Muskingum University for a week-long workshop that will prepare them for their year of concerts and touring.
