Little Pom Artists to perform at family nights in artPARK
COSHOCTON – Little Pom Artists make their way to the Pomerene Center each week to learn and experiment with many different concepts of art.
Anne Cornell shares with them her vast knowledge, familiarity, and experience with art. Each week a different key component of art is demonstrated, and taking what Cornell has taught, the children engage in a hands-on experience that cultivates and encourages creativity within each young artist. Retired teacher Barb Teti and Young Pom Artist Club member Breanna James volunteer their help.
The Little Pom Artists Club kicked off for the summer on May 30 as part of Get Rock’n Coshocton. Throughout the summer, the children will create drums, strings, and wind instruments all from recycled materials. Using paint and a variety of methods, the young artists have had the opportunity to experiment with texture and color. The paintings will be used to decorate their instruments. Together they will learn how to play the product of their creativity, their instruments.
Together the Little Pom Artists will get Coshocton Rock’n on three different family music nights held in the artPARK on Main Street, which will take place June 27, July 11, and July 18 at 6 p.m. The family fun, music and art making nights are free and open to the public.
The Pomerene Center for the Arts mission is to promote community involvement in the arts and the Little Pom Artists Club is just one way in which the Pomerene is fulfilling that mission.
The Young Pom Artists Club – Art Rocks meets Wednesday mornings May 30 – July 25. It costs $5 per week (need-based scholarships available upon request). Registration is required.
