United Way of Coshocton adds two new board members
COSHOCTON – Nic Carey, director of Coshocton County Coordinated Transportation, has agreed to sit on the United Way of Coshocton board. Carey was formerly with the local cable office for 10 years and recently took the position as director of Coshocton County Coordinated Transportation. He volunteered with the Three Rivers Fire District for six years and currently serves as a youth baseball coach with River View East and also a SOCCA coach. He and his wife LeeAnne have two children, Keegan and Zoee. Nic enjoys spending time with his family, being on his parents’ in law farm, fishing, watching Reds baseball and Michigan football.
Winnie Ellis just began her second stint on the board, so this will be her seventh year to serve. Ellis is retired after 10 years with WestRock. While there, she was instrumental in running their United Way campaign and during those years, WestRock consistently won Top Giver award.
Ellis is active with her church having served on the parish council at Sacred Heart and is a member of Catholic Women’s club.
Ellis is married to John Ellis and she has two grown children and two grandchildren. A consummate volunteer, Winnie said, “I have always said that you would be hard-pressed to find someone who is not touched by United Way in some way, at some time in their life. The picture of Coshocton has changed over the years, but the giving and supportive heart of Coshocton is always here, within us.”
The United Way of Coshocton is currently funding 14 partner agencies with 30 programs and 11 community partner programs. To donate or to ask questions, call United Way office at 740-622-4567.
