Block party held at Chestnut Crossing
COSHOCTON – A group of children enjoy crafts at the 10th Annual Block Party at Chestnut Crossing on Aug. 12. Angie Cantrell, outreach program director for Chestnut Crossing, said the block party is something all of the children look forward to. “Many of my kids are low income and this is a day to have fun with no worries about money or transportation. It’s a fun time for the families to come together with the community for activities and fellowship. There are so many churches here today and each one brought an activity.” The block party included a bounce house, horse rides, dunk tank, carnival games, face painting, a Three Rivers Fire Truck and food. Everything was free. “The motto of the outreach program is to provide these kids with a ‘no excuse to not succeed’ attitude,” said Cantrell. She would also like to thank all of the volunteers, churches and organizations that support the program throughout the year.
