Wells to perform at Roscoe UMC
COSHOCTON – The music department of Roscoe UMC, 475 High St., near Historic Roscoe Village, Coshocton, is pleased to announce that David Wells aka Bond, will be playing his flugelhorn/trumpet for their 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services with a full concert at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug., 26. A small reception will be held after the afternoon concert.
Dave Bond at www.davebond.org is a gifted flugelhorn/trumpet player from a small town in West Virginia and has been living his dream of a career in music. Since the age of nine, Wells began learning the flugelhorn and trumpet with his professional debut at the age of 13. Heavily influenced by Louie Armstrong, Herb Alpert, and The Tijuana Brass, Wells evolved into an instrumental soloist with the capability of reaching his audiences on an intimate level.
Wells shares his musical gift with the release of 15th CD and with approximately 150 shows per year. In 2013, Wells came out strong with his newest CD “No Side Effects”, which was released in March, 2013. On Feb. 5, Wells promoted his first single “Never Giving Up” and reached number one most-added single on R&R and Smooth Jazz.Com (national charts). Also, Wells’ single “Never Giving Up” was number one with most spin increase, and reached in the Top 10 on the “National Jazz Billboard Charts.” Also, on Feb. 5, 2013, his single was featured on Smooth Jazz Network, based out of LA California.
In 2011, the release of “Light” CD brought national acclaim on smooth jazz radio and reached number nine on the national Billboard Jazz Charts.
Wells’ career soared in 2007 after moving to number 10 on the R&R indicators, and becoming endorsed with Conn and Selmer. His television and sports appearances included airing in Columbus Blue Jackets on ESPN2 and performing for the Cincinnati Reds. He was also featured in several Christian music magazines and networks, WTAP- TV’s (NBC) “Daybreak,” and numerous Christian conferences.
In 2007, Wells’ career had expanded to include a guest appearance on the national television show “Studio Jams” which has over 10 million viewers on the “BET Station”. In Nov. 2007, he was an entertainer aboard the luxurious Sovereign of the Seas, a smooth jazz cruise.
In 2008, Wells was off to a strong start signing with Nuance Music Group based out of Long Island NY, then the release of “Friday Afternoon”. This full-length album will be released in February on both Nuance and Little Fish Records. “Friday Afternoon” is a collection of original instrumental pieces, which reaches out and touches the listener’s heart and soul.
Wells’ music is so engaging, his holiday single, “Deck the Halls” hit number one as the most added song on Smooth Jazz Radio Stations Nationwide such as Chicago, Miami, Orlando, NYC, and many more. He also hit number eight in the Top 10 most spin increase listing nationwide. Since 2008, Wells’ released two more CDs, “Skyline”, produced by Matt Marshak with nuance records, “Midnight Cruise”.
