Brown feels fortunate to raise family in Coshocton
COSHOCTON – Casey Brown knew from a young age that she wanted to stay in Coshocton to be with her parents and raise her family.
“I always had a passion about the community,” she said. “I like that it’s kind of a tight community and that everyone has each other’s back.”
Brown was born and raised here. She attended the Coshocton COTC branch for human resources and fell in love with the profession.
“I like that you are able to work individually, but still able to work with people,” she said. “I love helping people and I felt that this was a profession where I could still do that.”
Brown has been the human resources manager at Roscoe Village since May 2014. She developed such a passion for her work that she finished her education in 2016 at Franklin University when she earned a bachelor’s degree in human resources.
For the last 10 years, Brown also has had a drive to make this the community that she wants her children to grow up in.
“I want this to be a fun, safe and educational community,” she said. “That is a big part of why I got involved with the Coshocton Canal Court Committee. I want my daughter Jazlene to learn the history of our community and how it is important to our family and the community.”
Jazlene, who is 10-years-old, is the junior queen second attendant for the 2017 Coshocton Canal Court.
“This was the first year she was on the court and she met a great group of girls and we’ve been able to travel with them almost every weekend,” Casey said. “It’s helped her see why it’s important to work hard. Hopefully this was the first step in a long time run of being part of the program.”
Casey is married to Dustin Brown and in addition to Jazlene they have a 3-year-old son named Jalen. Together, Dustin and Casey have been involved with the Conesville and Coshocton County Rec softball programs.
“Dustin and I have been extremely fortunate to raise our two children here,” Casey said. “My daughter, Jazlene has made some great memories that only Coshocton could provide. I love this community and I am thankful for the opportunities we have been given.”
