Lois A. Lee
WORTHINGTON – Lois A. Lee, age 84, of Worthington, Ohio, formerly of Coshocton, passed away on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Our Family Home assisted living center. Lois was born July 15, 1934 to parents Edgar and Blanche (Porter) Lenhart in Coshocton, Ohio. She graduated from Coshocton High School in 1952 and later from the Ohio State University with a degree in Dental Hygiene and Elementary Education. She was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. On April 28, 1957, Lois married Edward Lee, who preceded her in death. They had been married for 56 years when he passed in 2013.
Lois was a teacher in the Coshocton school system for over 29 years, with most of them as a 4th grade teacher at Washington Elementary where she also attended as a child. She was especially passionate about teaching children to read. She was a lifetime member of the Coshocton Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder and as Clerk of Session. She was also active in the adult church school and Vacation Bible School at Grace United Methodist Church where Edward was a lifetime member. Lois was also active in various prayer chains. She was a member of Trirosis Service Club and enjoyed tutoring children, serving as a Pink Lady at the hospital, playing Bridge, reading, traveling and Ohio State University (the place, the team, the marching band and all things scarlet & gray), but most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.
Lois is survived by son Kevin (Ellen) Lee of New Albany; daughter Lisa (Thomas) Barco of Riverview, Florida; five grandchildren, Maria (Josh) Eldemire, James and Thomas Lee, and Ryan and Kyle Barco; and several nieces and nephews. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, brother, William Lenhart, and her husband.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 from 10:00-12:00 pm at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 12:00 pm with Pastor Lloyd Tenney officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
