Muskingum University’s Wind Ensemble to present ‘Fall Colors’
NEW CONCORD – The Muskingum University Wind Ensemble will present its fall tour program, “Fall Colors,” at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 28 at Brown Chapel on the campus. The concert is free and open to the public, though a free-will offering will be collected.
“Fall Colors” will feature a variety of classic and contemporary works for wind ensemble, including “Gavorkna Fanfare,” composed by Jack Stamp; “Symphonic Dance No. 3,” composed by Clifton Williams; “Shadow Rituals,” by Michael Markowski; “October,” composed by Eric Whitacre; and “Slava!,” composed by Leonard Bernstein. Also featured in the concert will be Erin Helgeson Torres, instructor of flute and Michael Renee Torres, instructor of saxophone.
The Muskingum University Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. David A. Turrill, associate professor of music and director of bands, is the premier instrumental ensemble at Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio, a four-year liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church – USA.
