Suspect taken into custody after vehicle pursuit

COSHOCTON – On Nov 19 at 4 p.m., a road patrol deputy advised that he was attempting to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation on Second Street in the City of Coshocton. Moments later, he advised that the vehicle was fleeing and that he was in pursuit. Several units entered in the pursuit, which went across our county and ended in the Wills Creek area, 13.5 miles and 14 minutes later. Though two cruisers sustained minor damage, the suspect was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect, Garrett E. Emerson, 27 years old and from the West Lafayette area, was taken into custody on outstanding warrants, which include breaking and entering.  Additional charges are anticipated after the incident has been reviewed by the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.

This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
