COSHOCTON – Darcie Kaser was born and raised in Coshocton County, graduated from River View High School in 2008 and now performs a service that most people wouldn’t consider doing. She is a funeral director and embalmer at Miller Funeral Home and part owner of Miller-Kaser Cremation Services.

“I was actually in my fourth year of college, studying to be a teacher, when I switched to mortuary services. My best friend’s husband is a funeral director and I shadowed him. I moved to Cincinnati to study and came home to help people here,” said Kaser.

“I love meeting the families and helping them during a rough time in their lives,” she said. “I like interacting with families and doing everything I can to help them.”  Kaser started her career at Miller Funeral Home in 2013.

Kaser, along with her best friend, Danielle Richesson, also coach the River View Junior High girls’ soccer team. “I love soccer. I played in high school and I’ve been coaching for three years. It’s so much fun to see the girls improve over the course of a season. I also want to be sure they are having fun. I know it’s important to learn new skills and win, but having fun is just as important to me. Danielle and I do everything with them – we play and we do drills, too.”

In her spare time, Kaser enjoys spending time with her family and friends and she plays in an adult soccer league at Kids America on Sundays. “I like outdoor activities.” She is also a Relay for Life volunteer and volunteers at the Elks Soccer Shoot Out.

“What I love most about my job is helping people in their time of need. I hope I can give them peace of mind, during a difficult time in their lives.”
