River View swim teams compete at Northridge Invite

NEW ALBANY – The River View Black Bears swim teams competed in the Northridge Viking Classic Invite at New Albany High School on Jan. 5. The boys’ team placed third overall, and the girls finished in fifth place.

Scoring points for the girls’ team were Lindsey Ashcraft, fourth in both the 100 Fly (1:13.29) and the 100 Breast (1:19.27), Carolyn Cox, sixth in the 100 Back (1:10.10), and seventh in the 200 IM (2:39.03), Katie Hardesty, fifth in the 500 Free (6:47.68), and 12th in the 200 Free (2:28.32), Josie Fornara, sixth in the 100 Fly (1:15.65), and 11th in the 50 Free (29.89), Paige Shroyer, ninth in the 500 Free (7:22.77), Rachyl Smalley, 12th in the 100 Back, the 200 Medley Relay of Cox, Ashcraft, Fornara, and Rachel Vandenbark, fifth (2:11.50), the 200 Free Relay of Cox, Ashcraft, Fornara, and Kyara Roberts, sixth (1:57.49), and the 400 Free Relay of , Roberts, Shroyer, Hardesty, and Michaela White, seventh (4:51.92).

The boys got points individually from Cole Tatro, third in the 200 IM (2:26.27), and fifth in the 100 Fly (1:03.83), Brady Philabaum, fifth in the 100 Back (1:06.22), and eighth in the 500 Free (6:27.07), Coen Bible, sixth in the 100 Back (1:09.59), and ninth in the 100 Free (57.17), Reas Pepper, eighth in both the 100 (55.99) and 200 Free (2:07.06), Brayden Karr, fourth in the 100 Breast (1:16.84), JT Roberts, ninth in the 50 Free (26.28), Gavin Donnell, ninth in the 100 Breast (1:18.83), Brody Fischer, 10th in the 100 Fly (1:17.98), and Brice Cross, 10th in the 500 Free (6:45.60).

The 400 Free Relay of Bible, Philabaum, Tatro, and Pepper was third (3:50.90), the 200 Free Relay of Bible, Karr, Roberts, and Pepper was fourth (1:43.52), and the 200 Medley Relay of Philabaum, Karr, Tatro, and Pepper was fifth (2:01.10).
