Dorothy Mae Sutton

COSHOCTON – Dorothy Mae Sutton, 92, of Coshocton passed away on Wednesday January 9, 2019.

Dorothy was born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 6, 1926, the daughter of the late Alfred and Jean (Iliff) Redfern.  She graduated from Euclid High School.  Dorothy had several occupations throughout her life including helping to provide food for the Portage County Juvenile Center.

Dorothy was a member of Roscoe United Methodist Church and past member of the Eastern Star.  She enjoyed creating her own embroidery/knitting projects, cooking and shopping.

She is survived by her four sons Darl “Larry” (Sharon) Sutton of Larkspur, CO, Dennis (Lynda) Sutton of Montgomery, TX, Pastor Dale (Becky) Sutton of Coshocton and Dean (Amy) Sutton of N. Canton; 17 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren and sister in law Connie Redfern of Bechtellsville, PA.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dale Sutton Sr. whom she married June 2, 1945; Dale passed away in 1996 and a brother John “Jack” Redfern.

A memorial service will be held at Roscoe United Methodist Church, 475 High St., Coshocton on Saturday January 19, 2019 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Dale Sutton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Roscoe United Methodist Church, envelopes will be available at the church.
