Regina Ann Dovenbarger
COSHOCTON – Regina Ann Dovenbarger went to be with the Lord on January 11, 2019. Regina passed away at home, on the beloved family farm, where she and her husband Richard of 59 years raised their children and watched their grandchildren grow.
Regina was a hardworking, determined, affectionate woman who put family above all else. She touched many lives with her compassion and generosity. Regina worked for Drs. Gary and Susan Carver for over 40 years. She was an active member of the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and was a Tops 506 member for many years. Her favorite pastime was to pen letters and cards to those she loved. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed baking; pies, noodles, and banana nut bread were a few of her specialties.
She is survived by three siblings (Cookie) Wanetta (Gene Jones) McNichols, Patricia (Larry) Fleming, and Robert McNichols. She was the proud mother of four children Richard (Cathy) Dovenbarger, Ruth (Corneilus) Wallace, Robert (Donna) Dovenbarger, and Teresa Wright. Regina was a proud, caring grandmother to ten blessed grandchildren, Alyssa (Jason) Henry, Brian (Heather) Dovenbarger, Shannon (Jeremy Offenbaker) Dovenbarger, Regina (Eric) Wiggins, Teresa (Scotty) Mack, Carly (Travis) Kirkbride, Britan Dovenbarger, Amber Brenner (Brent Mills), Ashley (John) Shaw, and Kayla (Cody) Cottrell. Regina is survived by 19 great grandchildren who have adoringly, bestowed upon her the nickname of “Grandma Down the Lane.”
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard (Dick), her parents, John and Ruth McNichols and two siblings, Mary (Art) Murray and John McNichols.
Calling hours will be held at Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from 5-7 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 17, 2019 at 11 am with Pastor Harold Sprague officiating. Burial will follow at Coshocton County Memory Gardens.
