Stolen motorcycle recovered after short pursuit

COSHOCTON – On Jan. 15, at 1:07 a.m. Deputy Bullock with the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a motorcycle on US 36 near the area of County Road 10, when the motorcycle attempted to flee the area. After a short pursuit of the motorcycle, the male driver fled on foot, but was shortly apprehended.

The male was identified as Christopher G. Shoults (45) from the Kimbolten area in Coshocton County. The motorcycle driven by Shoults was found to be stolen from the West Lafayette area. A firearm was located on Shoults’ person at the time he was arrested as well. Additional charges are pending by the Coshocton County Prosecutor, Jason Given, along with the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office, and the West Lafayette Police Department.

Assisting the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office and the West Lafayette Police Department with this investigation is the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.

This incident remains under investigation by the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
