Accident reported with injuries
COSHOCTON – On Feb. 3, the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received multiple 911 calls in reference to an accident on US Route 36 near Airport Road. Upon arrival of emergency personnel, it was found that a vehicle operated by 32-year-old Christopher Konalczyk of Coshocton was in a drainage ditch on the north side of US Route 36 and had heavy rear-end damage. Another vehicle operated by 71-year-old James Roman of Worthington, Ohio was found on the far side of the ditch and into a fence. It appears that the Konalczyk vehicle had been rear-ended by the Roman vehicle, causing both vehicles to go off the right side of the roadway. Konalczyk was flown from the scene by MedFlight to OSU Medical Center. A passenger in the Konalczyk vehicle, 63-year-old William Grieb of Coshocton was transported to Coshocton Regional Medical Center and flown from there to OSU Medical Center. Roman was treated at the scene and released. Assisting at the scene were the Three Rivers Fire District, Coshocton City Fire Dept., Coshocton County EMS, REACT, MedFlight, Air Evac, and Prince’s Wrecker Service.
