NEWARK — J. Andrew Crawford, Esq., has been appointed as a member of the Central Ohio Technical College (COTC) fiduciary board of trustees. Crawford has been a partner at the Newark law firm Reese, Pyle, Meyer, P.L.L. since 1989. He has extensive experience in litigation, general business and real estate law, and has litigated cases in courts ranging from local municipal courts to federal courts in the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio. Crawford has also tried numerous jury trials including personal injury (both for plaintiff and defendant), employment and real estate in several central Ohio counties. Additionally, Crawford has considerable experience in business acquisitions and sales, real estate transactions and estate planning. He earned a Juris Doctor in 1981 from the Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington, where he was managing editor of the Indiana Law Journal.
A Granville resident, Crawford has been actively involved in local civic affairs, serving as president of the Granville Village Exempted School District School Board, the Granville Recreational Commission (now the Granville Recreational District) and Granville Kiwanis, as well as serving on the board of the Granville Community Foundation.
Crawford is filling the board seat recently vacated by John F. Hinderer, who retired from the board after 13 years, serving the last four as chair. During his tenure, Hinderer served for four years as the COTC board liaison for The Ohio State University at Newark advisory board. Most recently he served on the COTC Presidential Search Committee. After fulfilling the remainder of Hinderer’s board term, which ends in September 2020, Crawford will be eligible to remain on the board for a full three-year term.
