Carol Ann Barcus

COSHOCTON – Carol Ann Barcus, 83, of Coshocton, passed away at her home on Tuesday February 5, 2019. Carol was born in Coshocton on February 11, 1935, the daughter of the late Vearl C. and Lula M. (Wills) Parks.

She was a homemaker throughout her life, treasured her time caring for her family and helping others. Carol was also a dedicated teacher at Coshocton County Head Start. She was a lifetime member of Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, an avid gardener, especially at Lake Park, enjoyed bowling and playing tennis and was a past treasurer of the Coshocton Women’s Club. Carol was always a hard worker and would do anything she could for others.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-nine years Charles D. Barcus; two children Lori Ratcliffe and Mitch Barcus both of Coshocton; six grandchildren Kelly (Lauren) Carroll, Lauren Szymczak, Abby, Katie, Connor and Aiden Barcus; special nieces Becky (Gary) Nelson, Susan Cotterman and Rev. Patricia Moats; several other nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by siblings June E. Wolfe, Kenneth Parks and Irs; bother in law Frances Wolfe.

Friends may call at the Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, 198 E. Church St., Coshocton on Saturday February 9, 2019 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM where a funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM with Pastor Wesley George officiating.  Interment will follow in Fairfield Cemetery, West Lafayette.

Memorial contributions may be directed to Canal Lewisville United Methodist Church, envelopes will be available at the church.
