Lake Park to host Sweetheart Dance

| February 7, 2019

COSHOCTON – Dance to the sounds of the big band era at Lake Park’s annual Sweetheart Dance, which will be Saturday, Feb. 9 from 8 – 11 p.m. in the pavilion. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.

When the pavilion originally opened, big band performers such as Sammy Kaye and the Glenn Miller Orchestra could be seen performing there on any given Saturday night.

“This will remind you a lot of the music you’d originally hear in the pavilion after it was first built,” said Lori Everhart, director of Lake Park.

Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at the door. If you are planning to bring a group of friends, you’re welcome to reserve a table by calling the Lake Park office at 740-622-7528.

“There is no dress code,” said Everhart. “I always tell people to wear whatever they are comfortable dancing in. Dress ranges from jeans to long flowy dresses and suits. Most people dress business casual.”

Music will be provided by the Lake Park Big Band. There will be light refreshments provided for a donation. Dancers are permitted to bring their own refreshments as well as alcoholic beverages.

All proceeds from the dance will benefit Friends of the Park.
