Employees at Ohio Family Counseling and Consultation LLC had a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 12. The business officially opened on Jan. 2 and has been growing their clientele base ever since.

COSHOCTON – Ohio Family Counseling and Consultation LLC had its ribbon cutting ceremonies beneath rainy skies on Tuesday, Feb. 12. Located at 303 South Fourth St., Coshocton, the business opened on Jan. 2 to meet the mental health needs of the residents in Coshocton County.

“We are super excited for this new business,” said Amy Stockdale, chamber of commerce executive director. “I think it’s definitely something that is needed in this community.”

Leslie Fehrman Ridenbaugh, LISW-S, LICDC-CS, HS-BCP, owner of the business, had a dream of going into social work ever since she was a child, but it was after a trip to Louisiana that she knew for certain she wanted to make her dream a reality.

“Leslie was a Red Cross disaster volunteer and was called to help with Hurricane Katrina,” said Mindy Fehrman, Ridenbaugh’s mother. “When she came back from that, she said she wanted to go into social work. She had found her passion.”

That experience changed Ridenbaugh’s life.

“I was in Louisiana when Hurricane Rita hit and I ran a shelter for 2,500 evacuees,” she said.

Ridenbaugh and her team of employees consisting of Lyndsey Kaiser, billing specialist; Ashley Davis, clinician; and Justin Addy, office manager, offer services in tele behavioral health, face-to-face appointments, psychiatric diagnostic assessments, individual counseling, group counseling, family counseling, psychoeducation, employee assistance programming, and training. They also accept Ohio Medicaid and Medicare, commercial insurances, and private pay.

Ridenbaugh received her bachelor’s degree in social work from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University and a master’s degree from the University of Akron. She is currently working on her doctorate.

“We are very proud,” said Fehrman. “Based on my own experience, I know there is a huge need for quality mental health services. We are thrilled to have her in Coshocton with our family.”
