Discuss the 1913 flood at Our Town Stories
COSHOCTON – The Johnson Humrickhouse Museum will be discussing the Flood of 1913 during Our Town Stories tomorrow at Noon at the museum. While you’re there, make sure to stop by in the special exhibit gallery and take a look at the Images from the Flood of 1913 exhibit, which will run until April 28.
The exhibit features 50 photographs and a few newspaper clippings from the 1913 flood. Joe and Donna Kreitzer collect postcards of Coshocton County and had a big collection of flood photographs. They came to the museum asking if they would consider doing a special exhibit on the 1913 Flood, and the museum opened the exhibit on March 1.
“We had a lot of people come through the day we opened,” said Patti Malenke, director of the museum. “It’s been very popular.”
Roscoe Village will also be hosting a slideshow program and lecture about the flood on Sunday, March 24 at 2 p.m. at the museum. The community is welcome to come to this event.
The next special exhibit will be the Teen Aged Talent exhibit starting March 23 – April 28 featuring art from the three area high schools.
