Presbyterians present musical meditation for Lent
COSHOCTON – The Presbyterian Church, North Fourth and Chestnut Streets in Coshocton, will present the Lenten cantata, “What Wondrous Love,” as part of 10:30 a.m. worship on Sunday, March 17.
Gordon Kendall, Debbie Wallace, and Alice Hoover will be the narrators, and selected anthems will be sung by the Chancel and Crusaders Choirs, and “Moving Spirit,” the men’s quartet. Mark D. Wagner will be the organist and accompanists include Ann E. Leppla, Barbara R. Snyder, and Caroline S. Heading.
The narration comes from the writings of Peter Marshall, the late pastor of the New York Avenue
Presbyterian Church in Washington D.C., and Chaplain of the U.S. Senate. He is remembered from the biography, ‘A Man Called Peter’, written by his widow Catherine Marshall, and the 1955 film adapted from it.
Other musical leadership will be provided by Westminster Ringers, and the Carol Choir conducted by Kimberly W. Hayes. Pastor Jonathan T. Carlisle will be the liturgist, and new members April King and Todd Kilchenman will be welcomed.
All are invited to share in this Lenten meditation. Preschool childcare will be provided, and there is ample parking available.
