Library program celebrates National Nutrition Month

| March 28, 2019

COSHOCTON – The Coshocton Public Library March 27 Count on Reading program focused on nutrition to help the Coshocton WIC office celebrate National Nutrition Month. The weekly program uses stories, crafts, songs, and rhymes to enhance number concepts and this past week the activities also focused on the importance of healthy eating. During craft time, they counted out 10 different fruits or vegetables to paste on a placemat that would be laminated for them to take home. Participants also had books read to them that had food themes and they enjoyed healthy snacks. Charles Litten, pictured at center with his grandson 4-year-old Nikolai Clark, said Clark asks about the event when he picks him up. “He loves it,” Litten said. “He’s really been able to come out of his shell.”

I started my journalism career in 2002 with a daily newspaper chain. After various stops with them, I am happy to be back home! I graduated from Coshocton High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2002 from Walsh University. I also earned several awards while working for daily papers, including being honored by Coshocton County’s veterans for the stories I wrote about them. I am honored and ready to once again shine a positive light on Coshocton County. I also am the proud mother of a little girl named Sophia!
