Museum to present A Universe of Cultures! A Universe of Stories

| May 9, 2019

COSHOCTON – The world is woven together by a common but amazingly diverse thread of customs, arts, cuisine and social activities. Children will have a chance to be mini-anthropologists and study several cultures Fridays May 31 through July 5 at the Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum.

Children, ages  3 through 11, are invited each Friday morning beginning at 10 a.m. to discover one of these unique cultures through the four universal elements we all share in common: food, clothing, shelter and amusement. They’ll be inspired through dancing and songs, tasty treats and creative crafts. Plus, children will receive a stamp on their A Universe of Stories stamp card, available at the museum. Ten stamps collected equals one free pass to the Lake Park Aquatic Center.

Sessions will be divided into two age appropriate groups to learn about the natural world through fun activities: preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and elementary children ages 6 to 11. Families will be allowed to explore the museum after each session.

Admission is $2 per child. Space is limited and reservations are required. Contact the museum at 740-622-8710 or email jhmuseum@jhmuseum.org.

A Universe of Cultures! is being presented in conjunction with the Coshocton Public Library, Clary Gardens and the Pomerene Center for the Arts through the Universe of Stories program. Cool summer programming will be offered throughout the month of June at each location. A Universe of Cultures! is sponsored by McWane Ductile and Coshocton Lake Park Aquatic Center.

The Johnson-Humrickhouse Museum is located in Historic Roscoe Village at 300 N. Whitewoman Street, Coshocton. Museum hours in June are noon through 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
