COSHOCTON – Whitewoman Street was lined with corvettes on June 9 including Bob and Candi Overly’s custom-painted 2008.

“We bought it brand new 11 years ago,” Bob said. “I love the look of corvettes with all the lines and curves. We even live on Corvette Lane.”

Their black corvette had blue flames on the outside and inside.

“I work in the gas business and a blue flame is as hot as it gets,” Bob said. “I knew if I could find the right color of blue it would look stunning on the black.”

This was their first time at the corvette cruise-in sponsored by the Classic Glass Corvette Club and Candi said they were having an awesome time.

“We stayed right here (at the Apple Butter Inn) and even got to see fireworks last night (from the hot air balloon festival),” she said.

Bob and Candi are from Champion, Pa. and drove their car down to Roscoe Village.

“We bought it to drive and have fun,” Candi said. “We put 6,500 miles on it once in three and a half weeks. We took a road trip and went to every national park we could.”

The corvette cruise-in was held in conjunction this year with the first Cheers to Summer Tasting Event. It featured the Real McCoy BBQ and Local Motion food trucks and a tasting tent sponsored by Elegant Events had samples from local wineries, a brewery and distillery.

“It’s been wonderful,” said Mary Ellen Given, executive director of the Roscoe Village Foundation. “We’ve had a lot of people coming through trying our local wines, beer and distillery. We even had Larry (Turner) from Killbuck Creek Distillery and Kevin (Ely) from the Wooly Pig Farm Brewery come and talk about their products.”

Wines available to sample were from Rainbow Hills, Heritage Vineyards, Indian Bar and Raven’s Glenn.

“We would absolutely love to do this again,” Given said.
