Structural damage assessment activities conclude in West Lafayette
WEST LAFAYETTE – After the West Lafayette area was hit by flash flooding, the community has come together and shown its resiliency. The village, townships, and EMA as well many other agencies and departments have been working tirelessly to bring any available assistance to all victims of this devastating event.
The structural damage assessment activities have concluded at this time. The structural damage assessments were completed using Small Business Administration Damage Assessment Criteria. Only structures are evaluated to determine possible financial assistance eligibility. Over 100 homes were evaluated and damage information collected. It has been determined that this incident does not meet the criteria for any state or federal financial assistance to repair damaged homes.
“We will continue to explore all avenues to bring any assistance to all affected residents,” Rob McMasters, director of the Coshocton County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management. “Our work is not complete as we move forward. As a community there has been tremendous work accomplished and much more to be done. Following a local disaster, communities must work together to recover and stand again even stronger than before.”
