Bluegrass Music: Three Rivers Bluegrass Music and Relay for Life Team Alana presents bluegrass music at Coshocton Village Inn and Suites, 115 N. Water St., on SR 541 beside McDonald’s, once a month. Bad Boyz Mud Bog: The next Bad Boyz Mud Bog of the season, 44840 SR 541, Coshocton, will be Saturday, Aug. 24. Gates open at 10 a.m. Event starts at 1 p.m. General admission is $5. Free admission to those infant to three years old. Vehicle admission is $20. One hundred percent payout to first, second, and third place. Car Show: The Plainfield United Methodist Church, 101 Church St., Plainfield, will have its annual Chicken Barbeque and Shades of the Past Car Show on Saturday, Aug. 24. Car show registration of $10 per car will begin at 3 p.m. with car show and meal beginning at 5 p.m. Car show awards will be presented at 7 p.m. Menu includes chicken, homemade potato salad, applesauce, roll, dessert, and beverage. Price is $10 for adults and $5 for children. Air-conditioned dining hall.
Pasture Walk: There will be a pasture walk on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 6:30 p.m. at Don Brown’s Farm, 31024 TR 11, Fresno. Highlights will be Bob Hendershot, speaker, ODA grazing specialist, forage identification, rotational grazing of sheep. Signs will be posted. Peaches Pub N Grub: On Aug. 24, Gary Rahn Acoustic will perform at 7 p.m. and on Aug. 31, it will be Metal Band Night at 8:30 p.m.
Car Show: Frazeysburg Lion’s 25th annual car show will be Monday, Sept. 2 around the Township Hall on State and Second Streets. Registration is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fee is $10. Trophies awarded at 3 p.m. Door prizes with tickets. Food will be served.
Flat Broke Run: The third annual Flat Broke Run for Kids will be Sept. 14 at the Army Navy, 628 Walnut St., Coshocton. There will be a veterans’ benefit breakfast at 9 a.m. Registration will be at 10 a.m. All vehicles welcome. Manufacturing Leaders: “Manufacturing Leaders in Manufacturing 1.0” is available at no cost to the first 24 registrants. Free Family Law Clinic: There will be a free family law clinic for Coshocton County throughout the year. This advice clinic is for low-income individuals. Sign in is at 1:45 p.m. the day of the clinic and is limited to 16 qualified individuals. It will be held at the Coshocton County Juvenile Court, 426 Main St., Coshocton. Coshocton Softball Players Association: Men’s Fall League starts Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday for seven weeks. Men’s is $325 for seven weeks. ASA Co-Ed Fall League will run Sundays from 2 to 3 p.m. starting Aug. 18. Women’s nights and times to be determined. See “Hammer” to sign up. Co-Ed is $280 for seven weeks. New Students: Parents of new students to Coshocton City Schools can begin their child’s school registration online at coshcton.esvportal.com. Parents will receive an email from the district when the forms have been reviewed and instructions for the next step. Parents will need to provide the district with copies of birth certificate, social security card, immunizations, custody papers, and gifted or special education records, if applicable. Returning Students: Parents of returning students to Coshocton City Schools can now login into One View coshocton.esvportal.com to update student address and phone number, complete the emergency medical form, the student health history, and weather-related/emergency dismissal form. Parents who do not have a computer or internet at home or need assistance with the forms are welcome to come to Open Lab at Coshocton Elementary on Thursday, Aug. 15 from 4 to 7 p.m. Please use gym doors to enter the building. 40th Reunion: The River View Class of 1979 is having its 40th reunion on Saturday, Aug. 24 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Elks Lodge, Coshocton. A $16 dinner reservation include two-meat buffet with potatoes, vegetables, roll, and coffee, tea, and water. If you just want to come and hang out with no dinner, please arrive after 6 p.m., and please place something in the donation container to help with rental cost and after-dinner appetizers. Studies: Keene United Methodist Church will host two separate studies beginning in August and running through October: Women’s Study Mondays at 6:30 p.m. starting Aug. 19: “Sanctuary finding a Safe Place for a Woman’s Soul” by Marsha Crockett and Combined Study: Couples, singles, men and women, Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. starting Aug. 21: “The Grave Robber – How Jesus Can Make the Impossible Possible” by Mark Batterson. Special Music: Roscoe United Methodist Church, 475 High St., Coshocton, will have special music each week during the summer months. The next summer special music of the season will be Colleen Frazee, vocalist, on Sunday, Aug. 25. Church begins outside in the shelter at 8:30 a.m. and at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.
Speakers: Perry Chapel Baptist Church will host Ken Ham and Buddy Davis on Sunday, Aug. 25. Ham will speak at the 10:40 a.m. service and again in the evening at 7 p.m. when Davis joins him with his music. This is a free event and the public is invited.
Rural Life Sunday: Fresno United Methodist Church, 54233 TR 172, Fresno, will have a Rural Life Sunday on Sunday, Sept. 8. Drive your tractor to church. Outdoor worship in Fresno Park at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Dan Eggan, followed by a covered dish and children’s pedal tractor pull. Hayride and parade of tractors and farm equipment to follow. Other activities include horseshoes, corn hole toss, watermelon eating contest, cake walks, and a petting zoo. Refreshments include ice cream, popcorn, and popsicles.
Helping Hands: Conesville United Methodist Church, 196 State Street, Conesville, will have Helping Hands on the third Thursday of each month from 6 – 6:30 p.m. The next distribution date will be Sept. 19.
Adult Bible School: The First Baptist church of West Lafayette is now having Sunday night Bible study for adults of all ages on Sunday nights at 6 p.m. in the fireside room of the church. Come out and join us for a time of prayer, fellowship and studying God’s word. The public is invited. This is a discussion format.

Lease an American Flag: The Village of West Lafayette will offer a lease of an American flag from the West Lafayette Rotary and the West Lafayette Lions Club for $25. A 3×5 foot flag on a 10 foot staff will be placed in a plastic anchor pipe buried in your front yard. Flags will be displayed on patriotic holidays. Chi Class, Roscoe United Methodist Church: Gym, Thursdays, year-round, 10 – 11 a.m.: Join the Coshocton Public Library at the Roscoe United Methodist Church Gym to practice gentle exercises that reduce stress and increase vitality.
