Ridgewood third grader enjoys sideline experience with dad at Browns’ game

WEST LAFAYETTE – A lucky raffle ticket made Audrey Tubbs’ first Cleveland Browns’ game extra special.
Her dad, Tim Tubbs, is a big Browns fan who attends Browns Backers events, which is where he won Audrey the chance to be a kickoff kid.
“I was at a Browns Backers function and got 40 tickets for $40,” Tim said. “You had to put your tickets in the different jars for the prizes. They had some really nice ones but almost all of mine went for this one.”
Audrey’s big day came on Aug. 29 when the Browns played the Lions in their final preseason game.
“After the kickoff she got to run out to get the tee and she got to be on the big screen,” Tim said. “It had her name up there and Ridgewood Elementary.”
In addition to two sideline passes the prize also included four tickets to the game.
“I don’t know who was more excited her or me and she was pretty excited,” Tim said. “It was great. I hope it is something she will never forget. I know I won’t.”
Audrey, who is in the third grade at Ridgewood Elementary, said she was nervous being on the sidelines, but was thrilled to be there.
“I told my teachers and friends and everyone thought it was really cool,” she said.
Audrey learned to love the Browns from her dad and was glad he was there on the sidelines with her.
“The Browns are something our family has always done,” she said. “I’m ready for another game.”
