Erma E. Grace
Erma E. Grace, age 87, of Coshocton, passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2019. She was born on March 27, 1932 in Tiverton Township to the late Lester and Fern (Pigman) Downes.
Erma worked for over 30 years in retail at Buckeye Mart who later became Fisher’s Big Wheel. At one time, she was the Treasurer for the Union at Buckeye Mart. She loved to crochet, garden, plant flowers, do crossword puzzles, read and visit the library. She was known to love a good steak; loved her beloved cat, Jasper and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Erma had a way of always making you feel special and loved and was truly a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She is survived by her two sisters, S. Patricia Nolan and Dorothy Nay both of Newcomerstown; four children, Connie (John) Coffee of Newark, George (Carol) Grace of West Lafayette, Gary (Vernanne) Grace of West Lafayette and Glenn (Jonathan) Grace of Columbus; five grandchildren Kristi Jordan, Scott Kohman, John Coffee IV, Troy Allan Grace and Staci Kirker; six great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and one very special niece, Michelle.
Along with her parents, Erma is preceded in death by her brother Leo Downes.
A private gathering of family will be held at a later date.
