EMS putting donations toward automatic CPR machines
COSHOCTON – Enterprise Products Operating LLC likes doing public outreach in the communities where it operates. Here in Coshocton they chose to make a $1,000 donation to Coshocton County EMS.
“We like helping out different organizations where we can,” said John Marron from Enterprise Products.
He and Chris Baker from Enterprise Products’ Coshocton terminal presented the $1,000 check to Todd Shroyer, EMS director, and the Coshocton County Commissioners on Sept. 10.
Shroyer said they plan to put this donation and others they receive toward buying more automatic CPR machines which cost between $14,000 and $15,000 each.
“CPR is a very physically demanding task and when you stop CPR you lose everything,” Shroyer said. “When you strap these machines on someone you don’t have to quit. You put it on someone in a house and take them out with it still running. You don’t have to stop at doorways or steps.”
EMS currently has one of these machines, which was purchased through a donation from the Coshocton Foundation.
“Our goal is to get five of them so we can have one on every truck, but that will depend on funds,” Shroyer said.
According to enterpriseproducts.com, Enterprise Products is a provider of midstream energy services to producers and consumers of natural gas, NGLs, crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals.
