Coshocton ArtPrize Show: The fourth annual Pomerene Center for the Arts Coshocton artPrize show closes Friday, Sept. 20, so time’s running out to vote for the $500 People’s Choice award. Participating artists may pick up their work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21; 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23; or by appointment. For more information, call 740-622-0326.
Bad Boyz Mud Bog: The next Bad Boyz Mud Bog of the season, 44840 SR 541, Coshocton, will be Saturday, Sept. 28. Gates open at 10 a.m. Event starts at 1 p.m. General admission is $5. Free admission to those infant to three years old. Vehicle admission is $20. One hundred percent payout to first, second, and third place. Bluegrass Music: Three Rivers Bluegrass Music and Relay for Life Team Alana presents bluegrass music at Coshocton Village Inn and Suites, 115 N. Water St., on SR 541 beside McDonald’s, once a month. Veterans Fair Passes: Free fair passes for military veterans for the Coshocton County Fair are being made possible again through the Blue Star Mother’s Chapter OH59 and the Coshocton County Veterans Council. Passes are good for one free admission to the fair from Oct. 1 through Oct 4. The fair runs from Sept. 27 through Oct. 3. Passes can be obtained from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9 to 25 at the Coshocton County Veterans Service Office. Bring proof of residency and either your military/veterans ID card or DD-214 form. West Lafayette Meetings: The West Lafayette Park Board will have a meeting on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. The Public Works will have a meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. The next regular village council meeting will be Monday, Sept. 23 at 7 p.m. Unless indicated otherwise, meetings are in council chambers.
Baby Photo Contest: Sept. 20, at 4 p.m., is the deadline to enter the Baby Photo Contest sponsored by the Pregnancy Distress Center. Contestants from Coshocton County must be born on or after Sept. 30, 2017. Submissions, including the baby’s name, parents’ names, address and phone number and a 4×6 photo can be sent to 805 Main Street, Coshocton, or to pdcofcosh@gmail.com. The first prize is a free family photo session from Ben Croghan Photography. The second prize is a $50 gift card. Board Meeting: Coshocton Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) will have their next board meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in the CMHA Learning Center, 823 Magnolia St., Coshocton. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss regular business.
Free Family Law Clinic: There will be a free family law clinic for Coshocton County throughout the year. This advice clinic is for low-income individuals. Sign in is at 1:45 p.m. the day of the clinic and is limited to 16 qualified individuals. It will be held at the Coshocton County Juvenile Court, 426 Main St., Coshocton. Election Meeting: The Coshocton County Board of Elections will have their next meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 8:30 a.m.

Hepatitis A Vaccines: The Coshocton County and City Health Departments will have a Hepatitis A Adult Immunization Clinic where they will offer Hepatitis A vaccines at the Coshocton County Fair at the County Health Department Booth in Commercial Building 1 on Tuesday, Oct. 1 from 10 a.m. to noon and 4 to 6 p.m.
CCRPC Meeting: The Coshocton County Regional Planning Commission Executive Committee meeting that was to be held on Monday, Sept. 9 in the Commissioners Conference Room at 3:30 p.m. has been cancelled. Yuengling Scramble Series: Zoar Golf Club has announced the addition to the Yuengling Scramble Series. A Senior Masters two-man scramble will be Saturday, Oct. 5. Free Training: Central Ohio Technical College has free training options available this fall. These classes include AutoCAD, Computer Apps, Blueprint Reading and Technical Drawing, DC Circuits, Industrial Motors and PLC, AutoCAD Electrical, AC Circuits, Industrial Controls, Manufacturing Leaders, and Manufacturing Young Leaders. Financial Aid Workshop: A College Financial Aid Workshop sponsored by Coshocton CARES will be held Wednesday, Sept. 18 at the Coshocton County Career Center at 7 p.m. The different types of financial aid available to students and the completion of the FAFSA application will be topics of discussion. Progressive Valley Grange: The Progressive Valley Grange will meet Thursday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. to prepare for the upcoming Coshocton County Fair. Bring your standard quart size jars of canned food, no wide mouth jars. The men will work on the grain and sheave boards. Refreshments will be your favorite snack food.
Progressive Valley Grange: On Tuesday, September 24, Progressive Valley Grange members will meet at 5 p.m. at the fairgrounds to begin decorating the booth. Bring your fancy work and quilts. On Wednesday, Sept. 25 during the day, members will work at the booth. On Wednesday evening, Sept. 25, the men will be tying corn at Wyler’s garage. Thursday, Sept. 26 will be the last and big day at the fair booth with the final touches being placed.
Write-On Writer’s Meeting: The Write-On Writers Guild’s next meeting will be Monday, Oct. 7 at 6 p.m. in the library’s large basement meeting room, 655 Main Street, Coshocton. They will be discussing final plans for their sixth annual writer’s workshop on Saturday, Oct. 12. They will also be choosing winners of our summer writing contest, to be announced Saturday.

Lapsit, Coshocton Public Library: Large Meeting Room, Wednesdays 10 to 10:30 a.m., Thursdays 10 to 10:30 a.m., West Lafayette Branch Library, Tuesdays 10 to 10:30 a.m.: For babies and toddlers, birth to three years, Lapsit is focused on early literacy and socialization skills through rhyme, rhythm, fingerplays, and music, all from the security of the lap of a parent or caregiver. We spend 20 minutes on a structured circle time, read the shortest of stories, and then enjoy parachute play, art projects, musical instruments, bubbles, or other fun activities. Registration is not required.
Letterland, Coshocton Public Library: Large Meeting Room, Wednesdays 11 to 11:30 a.m., West Lafayette Branch Library, Tuesdays 11 to 11:30 a.m.: Join us each week for our preschool storytime as we travel to a place called Letterland. We will meet engaging letter characters, read theme-related stories and sing songs, learn rhymes, do arts and crafts, and many other fun activities. Preschool storytime also helps children develop many social skills, such as self-regulation and peer interaction. This event is for children ages three to six. Registration is not required.
Just for Fun Fall Book Club, Coshocton Public Library: Large Meeting Room, Thursday, Sept. 19, 4:30 to 5:30 p.m.: Kids aged 7 to 12 are invited to join us for a special autumn book club. Books Galore Book Store, Coshocton Public Library: Basement, Mondays 3 to 6 p.m., Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturdays 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Gently used books, DVDs, videos, and magazines for sale at rock bottom prices. The bookstore is located in the basement of the Coshocton Public Library and operated by the Friends of the Library. All proceeds benefit the library, the West Lafayette Branch, and the bookmobile. Family Night at the Library – Preschoolers, Coshocton Public Library: Small Meeting Room, Tuesdays, 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.: Join us each week for our preschool storytime as we travel to a place called Letterland. We will meet engaging letter characters, read theme-related stories and sing songs, learn rhymes, do arts and crafts, and many other fun activities. Preschool storytime also helps children develop many social skills, such as self-regulation and peer interaction. Registration is not required. Letterland is for children ages three to six and will take place in the small meeting room in the library.
Family Night at the Library – School-Agers, Coshocton Public Library: Large Meeting Room, Tuesdays, 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.: Children ages 7 to 12 are invited to join us each week for STEAM Club (science/ technology/ engineering/ arts/ math). We will experiment with science and engineering, work on coding and have fun with different art media! For a full list of activities, pick up our STEAM bookmark. Registration is not required.
Chi Class, Roscoe United Methodist Church: Gym, Thursdays, year-round, 10 to 11 a.m.: Join the Coshocton Public Library at the Roscoe United Methodist Church Gym to practice gentle exercises that reduce stress and increase vitality. Chi Class is taught by Holli Rainwater, a Certified Tai Chi Easy Practice Leader. Registration is not required.
