Man charged with child endangerment

COSHOCTON – On Oct. 11, Coshocton County Job and Family Services (JFS) contacted The Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a two-month-old child from our county that was at Nationwide Children’s Hospital showing signs of internal head trauma. Our detective unit began an investigation in relation to a possible assault on this child victim.

On Oct. 17, Cristofer Wethy, a 45-year-old male from the Coshocton area, was formally charged with child endangerment, a felony of the second degree. Additional charges are possible once the Coshocton County Prosecutor reviews the entire case.

Assisting your sheriff’s office with this case are the Coshocton County Children Services, Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Child Abuse Team and the Coshocton County Prosecutor’s Office.

This incident remains under investigation by your Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office.
