Ina Lou Hill
WEST LAFAYETTE – Ina Lou Hill passed away peacefully following a long illness on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. She was born October 3, 1935, in Keene, Ohio, to Verdella Mae (Gress) and Clyde Peter Emler.
Ina Lou is survived by her husband, Gaylord, who she married 65 years ago on June 20, 1954. Together they had four children, Douglas (Nan), Dallas (Wendy), Lori (John) Woodburn, Lisa (Jay) Butler; five grandchildren, Shanna (Shane) Stanton, Jessica (Matt) Mullen, Tyler (Sarah), Kyle (Rosario) Woodburn, Kayla (Tommy Hilliard) Woodburn; seven great-grandchildren, Zayvia, Zane, Zaxton, and Zylee Stanton, Bennett and Parker Hill, and Rowan Mullen. Ina Lou is also survived by her brothers, Raymond (Phyllis deceased), and Donas (Susie) Emler.
A graduate of West Lafayette High School, Ina Lou was a loving homemaker and retired billing clerk for the West Lafayette Water Department. She was a wonderful seamstress, having sewn several Coshocton Canal Days princess dresses along with her daughter’s wedding gown. She was a member of the West Lafayette United Methodist Church, having been an active member of the church’s Chancel and Hand Bell Choirs and a former Sunday School and Bible School Teacher. She was also a member of the West Lafayette Fire Department’s Sparkettes, an organization that provided assistance to the West Lafayette Fire Department’s fundraisers, and she provided many decades of support to the West Lafayette Fire Department’s former long-time Fire Chief, her husband, Gaylord.
Ina Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Verdella Emler, and sister Bessie Emler.
Services for Ina Lou will be held on Friday, November 15, at the West Lafayette United Methodist Church with calling hours 11:00 AM-12:00 PM and the service at 12:00 PM Noon, Interment services to follow at the West Lafayette Fairfield Cemetery and luncheon afterwards at the church in the Oak Street Room.
