Key Club members enjoy treat from Kiwanis Club
COSHOCTON – Kate Brady and her friends were very appreciative of the pizza lunch provided to them by the Kiwanis Club of Coshocton.
“They are really awesome and nice,” said the Coshocton High School freshman.
Brady is a member of the school’s Key Club, which is sponsored by the Coshocton Kiwanis Club.
“I really appreciate everything they do for us and hope we can always pay them back,” said Destiny Fry, who also is a freshman.
In addition to their own projects, the Key Club members assist the adult group with its annual pancake day and Special Olympics Track and Field Days.
“They are all just really sweet to us,” said Samantha Burch, who is a sophomore.
The Kiwanis Club members served the students pop and pizza on Jan. 24 in the balcony of the gym to thank the students for all their assistance.
“I really appreciate this,” said Addison Gordon, another freshman member of Key Club. “I think this was really awesome of them.”
Key Club Advisor Kristy Stiteler is glad they have such a great partnership with the Kiwanis Club.
“It gets the kids out in the community and working with people they might not normally work with,” she said. “It teaches them leadership skills too, and you will be surprised by the ones it comes out in. I think that is the best part.”
Kiwanis Club President Cole Moody added that the Key Club members are a huge part of making pancake day a success.
“They run around with extra sausage links and raffle tickets and help with the little kids,” Moody said. “We are happy to able to do something like this to thank them.”
