Rotary Club of West Lafayette hosting health fair
The Rotary Club of West Lafayette’s semi-annual health fair/blood screening will be held on Saturday, March 14 at the West Lafayette First Baptist Church (688 East Main Street) from 7 to 9 a.m. No appointment is needed and there is easy access to parking at this location. Test results will be sent to the individual’s home address or physician. A donation of $1 or canned food item for the food pantry is requested to cover mailing costs.
Participants are required to fast 12 hours before testing but drinking water is recommended.
Tests that will be offered and the costs include are: CBC & Comp Panel (CMP) and Lipid Panel (Blood count/Anemia, Electrolytes, Glucose, Kidney and Liver Function) (Cholesterol, triglycerides, HDL/LDL, ratio’s, LDL/VLDL) – $55; A1C (Percentage marker for diabetic degree of control) – $25; TSH (Thyroid-stimulating hormone, thyroid disease) – $25; PSA (Prostate cancer) – $25; Vitamin B12 – $30; Vitamin D – $40; Male Cancer Screen (Liver, stomach, colon, pancreas and prostate – three tests) – $100; Female Cancer Screen – (Liver, stomach, colon, pancreas and ovarian – three tests) – $100; and HEPC – $35.
This gives the opportunity to choose the test(s) that best fit the individual’s needs. In addition to the tests noted above, EMS will be there to do blood pressure checks.
