UPDATE: Events canceled; offices closed due to COVID-19 outbreak

Community events are being canceled due to concerns surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and businesses and offices are changing their hours. Please contact the hosting organizations to confirm whether events are still taking place or not and check with businesses before heading out. The following is a list of changes we were aware of by press time:

Coshocton County Lenten Luncheons: All Lenten Luncheons for the season are canceled.
Coshocton City School Kindergarten Registration: Coshocton has postponed kindergarten registration and rescheduled dates will be released as soon as they are available.
Janusian Club of West Lafayette Ladies Night Out: This annual fundraiser scheduled for Thursday, March 26 is canceled.
Calvary Baptist Church: Church services will be cancelled for March 29 and April 5.
The Presbyterian Church: All scheduled groups, activities, and events at The Presbyterian Church of Coshocton have been cancelled indefinitely for the health and safety of the community. There will be virtual worship on Facebook Live through the church FB page (https://www.facebook.com/presbycoshocton/) at 10:30 a.m. Sundays. Services will also be uploaded to YouTube. Baltic Fire Department 29^th annual Pig Roast: This Saturday, March 28 event is postponed. The fire department is currently working on coming up with a new date.
Coshocton Model Railroad Club: The slide show/open house for Saturday, March 28 is canceled. The club is restricted to members only at this time.
Warsaw Lions Club Pancake Day: The Saturday, April 4 pancake day at the Warsaw Fire Department is canceled.
Coshocton County Career Center: The annual open house scheduled for Tuesday, April 7 has been canceled.
Clary Gardens: All programs and events at Clary Gardens will be cancelled for March and all of April. Due to Governor DeWine’s coronavirus mandate, we are cancelling all our programs and events through April. This includes The Great Garlic Mustard Pull, Drop-In Story Time, Shiitake Workshop, and the Egg Scramble. Everyone who reserved tickets will be getting a full refund. The safety of our community is our top priority at this moment. Thank you for understanding.
OSU Extension Coshocton County: The office will be closed to the public until further notice. While the office will be physically closed, the staff is committed to continuing to conduct work as fully as possible. You should continue to feel free to call, email, etc. with any OSU Extension staff member as you normally would. If you have questions, feel free to contact the office at 740-622-2265.
Coshocton City Hall: Coshocton City Hall is on lockdown and the public will not be allowed access. All questions and concerns will be addressed by email cityhall@cityofcoshocton.com or by phone at 740-622-1465. At this time appointments will be made for emergency situations only. The income tax office will provide drop box service for those taxpayers that need their taxes prepared. Submit a signed tax form (available at www.cityofcoshocton.com) and all w-2’s. Those with prepared tax returns will need to mail them to 760 Chestnut St., Coshocton, Ohio 43812. The drop box service is also offered to those making monthly payments. Coshocton Municipal Court: The court is open and maintaining regular business hours to accept filings and payments. Per the department of health guidelines, they are restricting entrance to the court to parties only with a 10-person limit in the courtroom. Probation defendants are not required to report in person, from now until April 6. They are required to report by telephone, call at 740-622-1052. Leave/spell your last name and give an update.
Coshocton County Recorder’s Office: The office is closed to the public until further notice. Staff will be working and can answer your phone call or email if you have questions. If you have a document to record, slip it under the door inside the front vestibule. We want to keep the public as well as staff healthy in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Coshocton County Veterans Service Office: There will be no non-scheduled walk in appointments allowed. Staff will assess any claim work that cannot wait and a face-to-face appointment may be scheduled if the claim is deemed time sensitive. For financial assistance, local veterans are encouraged to call the office and speak with a service officer.
Coshocton Water Billing Office: Effective 8 a.m. on March 16 the City of Coshocton Water Billing Office will be closed to the public coming inside the building. Please use the drop box or the drive thru terminal for payments. If you have questions or need further assistance, call the water office at 740-622-2626 or you may contact them via email from the city website at www.cityofcoshocton.com.
Treasurer’s office: In an effort to limit person to person contact, the Coshocton County Treasurer’s office will open the drive thru window located at the back of the courthouse annex from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to receive tax payments. There also is a drop box located beside the window for after hours.
Coshocton County Commissioners: The office will remain open for business. However, employees will be working from home with employees rotating days to make sure there is one individual in the office every day from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The commissioners will meet only one day a week. The meetings will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday mornings and they will conduct only necessary business.
Coshocton County Auditor’s Office: In order to protect staff and attempt to follow state and federal guidelines to slow the progress of COVID-19, the county auditor’s office will be closed to the public until further notice. They are asking that all auditor’s office business be taken care of by mail, email, or phone. If you must drop something off, there will be forms and a place inside the front door of the building to do so during business hours and a drop box at the back of the annex building after hours. Items could also be left for the auditor’s office at the treasurer’s drive through during office hours. Coshocton Public Library: In response to Governor DeWine’s press release on March 16 and as a result of the library being closed to the public, staff members will not be reporting to the library and will not be available to answer correspondence. Items are not due back while the library is closed. Patrons will not be able to return items and drop boxes will not be available. The library will remain closed until further notice. Check the library’s website, coshoctonlibrary.org, and Facebook page for further details.
COTC and OSU Newark: The Ohio State University at Newark and Central Ohio Technical College’s (COTC) four campus locations (Newark, Coshocton, Knox and Pataskala) will implement modified campus operations beginning Monday, March 23, and continue indefinitely. Both institutions will remain open for business remotely – all campus buildings will be closed to the public and no in-person services will be available. Staff will only be available via email, and many offices will be available through regular business phone numbers. Teleworking will be implemented where possible for all staff members. There will be a limited onsite presence to maintain business continuity, including public safety and security and facilities staff. Both institutions have moved most classroom and all lab sections as well as all student services to remote delivery methods for the remainder of the semester. Unless otherwise noted, all clinicals, practicums and internships are suspended indefinitely. Rotary Park Playground and Pavilion at 925 Sharon Valley Road, Newark, which is managed by the shared campus, will also be closed indefinitely.
