Emergency operations center update
The reports of how many confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Coshocton County has raised some questions. The number that is reported daily by the Ohio Department of Health is a rolling number that includes all cases in Coshocton County previous and new. Our current number of confirmed cases is four. The local health departments are advised by either ODH or other testing facility when tests results are confirmed positive. The local health departments will continue to protect the identity of any residents that have tested positive for COVID-19. The safety of these citizens is of upmost concern as they go through a very difficult time. We ask the community to respect the privacy of these citizens.
May citizens have inquired about making masks for our responders. Coshocton Regional Medical Center has some guidance and instructions how to make these masks. These masks will be used by ill patients thereby conserving surgical and other masks for use by responders. Actions for Citizens
Please refer to official sources for accurate information about what is being accomplished in the fight against COVID-19. There are many untrue rumors and misinformation that can hinder our ability to provide important information that the citizens of Coshocton County needs.
Check on your neighbors. Help one another out as we all go through this difficult time. Be patient and kind to one another.
To prevent the spread of the disease the CDC encourages everyone to follow these effective practices:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, use an alcohol based hand sanitizer only if soap and water are not available.
Avoid touching you eyes nose and mouth
Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing
Avoid contact with sick people
Stay home when you are sick
Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces and objects – doorknobs, light switches, keyboards, etc.
