Ridgewood Local Schools distributing thousands of meals

The Ridgewood Local Board of Education met in regular session on Monday April 20, at Ridgewood Elementary School with all members present.

Superintendent Mike Masloski gave the board an update of an example of the weekly instructional lessons compiled by Ridgewood Elementary, middle and high school teachers. The lessons are geared to engage the students while they are learning at home and to take advantage of the many teachable lessons involving this crisis.  Commendations were given to staff members that continue to give to the students and their families during this time. Meals continue to be distributed to all families that want to participate. Deliveries continue to be distributed by the bus routes and drive up services at the middle school. Call any of the schools to inquire about receiving meals if you would like to participate. As many as 1,000 meals a day have been distributed.

The treasurer’s report was given and approved. Donations were received from Carol Lawless of $150, The United Way of Coshocton County $5,000, and Kim Jones $1,000 all designated for the cafeteria fund. Savannah Gress was approved as high school history teacher for 2020-2021 school year. The retirement of Kate Shivers, food services, after 31 years of service was approved.

The next regular board of education meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 11, at Ridgewood Elementary School.
