National Day of Prayer event scheduled

A National Day of Prayer celebration will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 7, at the courthouse gazebo.

As our nation and the world faces the ongoing trials and tribulations, this year the Corona Virus Covid 19 the need for prayer is significant.

Prayer will be lead from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the courthouse gazebo – rain or shine, stay at home order – practicing social distancing. The schedule includes:

  • 9 to 10 a.m. – Larry and Cindy Massie will be praying for the children and youth in our community and around the world.
  • 10 to 11 a.m. – Mike Jansen will be praying for the all those involved in education.
  • 11 a.m. to  – noon – Dawn Boots will be praying for the church.
  • Noon to 1 p.m. – Phil Hunt will be praying for businesses in our area and around the world.
  • 1 to 2 p.m. – Mike Jansen will be praying for the members of our military.
  • 2 to 3 p.m. – Joe Sanders will be praying for our first responders.
  • 3 to 4 p..m – Dave Boots will be praying against drug addiction and the drug culture and healing from the addiction.
  • 4 to 5 p.m. – Bryan Kittner will be praying for the leaders in our government from local to federal.
  • 5 to 6 p.m. – Phil Hunt will be praying for all medical personnel.

If the stay at home ordered is lifted please plan to attend an hour of prayer or more at the gazebo courthouse.
