Third round of emergency relief grants awarded

The United Way of Coshocton board has set up an emergency relief fund to assist other non-profit organizations lending aid to victims of the current Covid-19 pandemic.

Third round applications were due June 1 and the emergency committee along with the United Way board decided to distribute $10,000 to these local programs:

  • Ridgewood LSD food distribution
  • Salvation Army basic needs relief
  • West Lafayette Rotary Food Pantry
  • Senior Center support for basic needs of seniors
  • Kno-Ho-Co Health services PPE
  • AMVETS Post #36 PPE and cleaning supplies

Contributions received thus far from local foundations and corporations include the United Way of Coshocton, Coshocton Foundation Johnston Fund, the Simpson Family Foundation, Schooler Foundation, Buckeye Brine, Century National Bank, McWane Foundation and more than 30 individuals.

So far more than $50,000 has been distributed to Coshocton programs fighting the effects of the pandemic.

If you wish to contribute to the fund, you can send a check payable to the United Way with emergency fund on the memo line. Address is P.O. Box 84, Coshocton, OH 43812. You can also donate through the www.coshoctonunitedway.org website, click on the GIVE tab on the home page and be sure to indicate “emergency fund” in the additional information box.

A fourth round of applications will be accepted and due Wednesday, July 1. The application can be accessed through the website as well or you can request one via email to: director@coshoctonunitedway.org.

2-1-1 has been re-established for Coshocton, so individuals with questions concerning the pandemic can call 2-1-1. If that number does not work, you can call 1-844-318-3909.
