James William Rogers

James William Rogers, 92, of Orrville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020. He was born on June 13, 1928 in Blissfield, Ohio to the late William and Edith (Jarvis) Rogers.

Jim grew up farming and loved every aspect of it. After attending college, Jim joined the United States Army, serving his country from 1946 to 1952. He then went back to farming and working every day in farm sales until his 90th birthday.

In 1951, Jim married Doris Lee (Herbert) Rogers and they spent 45 wonderful years together until she passed away in 1996. Jim was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and one of the founders of Coshocton REACT. When he was younger, Jim helped his family run the New Moscow General Store.

He was full of life and one of the most kindhearted, caring gentleman you would ever wish to meet.

Jim is survived by his wife Linda (Williams) Rogers of Orrville, whom he married in October 1998; three sons, Dave (Debbie) Rogers of West Lafayette, Paul (Katie) Rogers of Chandler, AZ and Tim (Chris Andrews) Rogers of Warsaw; seven grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Hawkins of West Lafayette, John (April) Rogers of Maryland, Brianna Rogers, William Rogers and Emily Rogers all of Arizona, Brittany Rogers of Florida and Brian ( Maisie) Rogers of North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Trevor and Taya; and one sister, Charla Hartman of Florida.

Along with his parents and first wife, Jim is preceded in death by an infant sister, Delsey Jane Rogers.

A private burial will follow at a later date. Given-Dawson-Paisley Funeral Home is serving the family.
