50th annual Apple Butter Stirrin’ sets sights on 2021

It is with deep regret and concern for public safety that the Roscoe Village Foundation has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Apple Butter Stirrin’ scheduled for Oct. 16-18. In what would have been the 50th year for the event, planning will move to 2021 to celebrate that milestone. The decision was made after discussions with the Coshocton City Health Department and the fact that mass gatherings have not been cleared by the state’s Responsible Restart Ohio orders.
The Roscoe Village Foundation is concerned for the health of employees, exhibitors and visitors, considering the unpredictability of the Coronavirus Pandemic. The conditions required to provide appropriate social distancing for the safety of all concerned are not feasible with this event. Additionally, organizers recognize that the event, like many others in this region, could be cancelled only days prior to the start if escalating pandemic conditions persist. A late cancellation would cause additional financial hardships to vendors, musicians and others who have already suffered from multiple event cancellations this year.
The celebration of the 50th anniversary of Apple Butter Stirrin’ in Roscoe Village will move to Oct. 15-17, 2021, when it is hoped it can be held without Coronavirus concerns and with the festivities that have made it a favorite event for 50 years.
