Coshocton man dies in State Route 16 accident

On Aug. 24, 2020, at approximately 2:54 p.m. the Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a two vehicle accident and both drivers were pinned in. This accident took place on State Route 16 just West of State Route 83 South, in Jackson Township. Deputy’s then arrived on scene and started an investigation into this accident.

While conducting this investigation deputies learned a white Suzuki SUV being driven by 48 year old Pamela D. Marion of Stock Port, had went left of center and struck a green 1993 Ford Ranger being operated by 50 year old Robert C. Jacobs of Coshocton who was heading East on State Route 16 at the time of this accident. Both subjects had to be mechanically extracted from their vehicles.

Jacobs was pronounced deceased at the scene. Jacobs was not wearing a seat belt at the time of this accident. Marion was transported to Genesis Hospital in Zanesville, due to her injuries and is in stable condition at this time. The cause of this accident remains under investigation.

Assisting the sheriff’s office at the scene were Jackson Township Fire, Coshocton City Fire, Three Rivers Fire, Coshocton County EMS, Coshocton County Coroner, Coshocton County React and Princes Wrecker Service.
