Coshocton Business and Professional Women (BPW) will celebrate the annual National Business Women’s Week™ (NBWW) Oct. 18-24, 2020. NBWW offers communities, companies and organizations an opportunity to celebrate the contributions of working women and companies that have made strides toward improving workingwomen’s lives in their communities.

Coshocton BPW members met at city hall to pick up a proclamation from the mayor’s office. “NBWW is a significant way to observe and raise awareness about women in businesses and women-owned businesses in Coshocton,” said Coshocton BPW President Pat Talbot.

To kick off the week on Oct. 18 members will attend the 41st annual NBWW Ecumenical on Zoom. BPW/OH will host members from BPW/PA and BPW/OH. The theme this year is “She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future,” Proverbs 31:25. Liz Herrell, Coshocton and Zanesville member and BPW/OH Vice President, is the ecumenical chair

On Saturday, Oct. 24, Zanesville BPW will host the Region 3 BPW Meeting on Zoom. The meeting is open to the public.

During the month of October membership dues will be reduced to $30. Membership is open to men and women, employed and unemployed who support the legislative platform.

Coshocton BPW is an active member of the community. Activities include presenting scholarships through the Coshocton BPW Joan McNeely Working Woman Scholarship Fund, donating to Buckeye Girls State, First Step and various local charities. Coshocton BPW also sponsors Equal Pay activities in April to bring awareness to pay inequality.

Founded in 1919, BPW is a cross-generational, nonpartisan membership organization with a mission to achieve equity for all women in the workplace through advocacy, education, and information.  Established as the first organization to focus on issues of workingwomen, BPW is historically a leader in grassroots activism, policy influence and advocacy for millions of workingwomen for 100 years.  For more information contact CoshoctonBPW@gmail.com.
