Hickory Flats hosting Halloween party
Hickory Flats Golf Course is hosting a trick or treat party on Oct. 24 from 4-6 p.m. The course will be decorated for Halloween with a path on the golf course for trick or treaters followed by a Halloween party in the club house.
The party features games, food, prizes including a pie in the face contest, costume judging and raffles. Costume judging will be two categories: Cutest costume and the scariest costume. Judging will be divided into two age groups: 9-years-old and under and 10-years-old on up.
“Games also include a ‘putting’ contest and a boat load of candy,” said event coordinator Jason Beckett. “It’s going to be a good time. We are not sparing on the expense. We hope everyone enjoys themselves. The party features music, a bonfire, hot dogs, hot chocolate, hot cider – all kinds of good stuff for kids of all ages.”
This is a free event for families although Hickory Flats will take donations for candy and prizes. Just call the club if you want to donate. Anyone who wants to can come and handout candy.
“We would like to get the community together to have a good time,” said Beckett.
Raffles prizes for the parents include an 18 hole golf gift card. Proceeds will go to the Christmas Castle. Tickets are $1 for one or six tickets for $5.
“It’s all free except for the raffle,” Beckett said. “This is our first year but if all goes well we will keep doing it. Hopefully it will get bigger and bigger. We’re under new management and we plan to do different things in and with the community. We do more than just golf. I’m a Halloween guy. Halloween is my favorite holiday. You don’t have to trick or treat, just come and hang out.”
